Flavonoids, especially anthocyanins, found in berries, tea, and chocolate may protect against Type 2 Diabetes.

The power of flavonoids

Bioflavonoid compounds include anthocyanins, catechins, flavanones, flavones and flavonols. Several of these flavonoid subclasses have been associated with a reduction in risk of Type 2 Diabetes, as have foods and drinks rich in flavonoids, including apples, pears, tea, red wine, chocolate and berries.
