Small Babies Stay Petite

Written by Tim Pegler

More from the 'you can't change the body you're born with' files - researchers have shown that babies born small are unlikely to suddenly sprout up during their teens.

The finding is based on measurements of 3,650 full-term healthy babies born in Sweden between 1973 and 1975. The babies were measured for length and Body Mass Index, a measure based on height to weight ratio. During their early childhood and teens, 2,738 of the children were measured for height and BMI again.
