Challenges are ultimately up to us to face, but it helps if we have support along the way.

Research shows people with little support or a tendency to withdraw are more vulnerable to depression and illness, and those with negative and unsupportive relationships fare even worse.  In comparison, those with strong social support networks are healthier, happier and more resilient. But it’s a case of the chicken and the egg. It could be that social support promotes psychological wellbeing, which in turn promotes good health, or it could be that those with good health find it easier to cope with life’s ups and downs, which makes them attractive as people and more likely to have strong social networks.
